2017年6月，華先生在我院舉辦了《活水——華之寧先生藝術(shù)回顧巡展》，那是她人生的最后一次畫展。2018年4月，這位慈祥的老人在美國洛杉磯與世長辭，享年86歲。

In June 2017, Ms. Hua held the "Flowing Water – Exhibition Tour of a Retrospective of Ms. Hua Zhining’s Art" in our museum, which was the last painting exhibition in her life. In April 2018, the kind old woman passed away at the age of 86 in Los Angeles, the United States.

無錫博物院藏 現(xiàn)代 華之寧《云煙空際》

華之寧，無錫前洲人，15歲開始追隨國畫大師黃君璧研習(xí)傳統(tǒng)山水畫，后師從吳詠香學(xué)習(xí)花鳥畫。1956年在臺灣師范大學(xué)美術(shù)系畢業(yè)后，赴美國費(fèi)城藝術(shù)學(xué)院深造，定居洛杉磯。華之寧先生的繪畫創(chuàng)作受到東西文化浸潤與滋養(yǎng)，因而形成了自己獨(dú)特的藝術(shù)風(fēng)格。

先生早年的水墨山水“清凈如許、云煙空寂、筆墨陳爽、骨力堅(jiān)挺，有地道的中國風(fēng)”。中期作品受美國西式教育和文化價(jià)值觀之熏染，采用了對景寫生、印象派的理念，呈現(xiàn)出中西融合的特點(diǎn)。后期作品中開始出現(xiàn)了潑墨。華先生說：“墨與水，最中國。”創(chuàng)作時(shí)，華先生讓水引導(dǎo)墨在紙上自由運(yùn)行，自然天成，這是對中國傳統(tǒng)繪畫的一次“創(chuàng)新式”回歸。

Hua Zhining, a native of Qianzhou, Wuxi, began to follow Huang Junbi, a master of traditional Chinese painting, to study traditional landscape painting at the age of 15, and later to learn flower and bird painting from Wu Yongxiang. After graduating from the Department of Fine Arts of National Taiwan Normal University in 1956, she went to Philadelphia College of the Arts, the United States, for further education and settled in Los Angeles. Ms. Hua Zhining's painting creation has been infiltrated and nourished by Eastern and Western cultures, which helped her formher own unique artistic style. Ms. Hua’s ink landscape paintings in her early years are “clean and pure, the cloud and mist is open and quiet, the ink is clear and smooth, the strokes are vigorous, and it has an authentic Chinese style”. Her mid-term works were influenced by American Western-style education and cultural values, thus adopted the concepts of landscape sketch and impressionism, which presented the characteristics of integration of China and the West. Splash-ink technique appearedin her later works. Ms. Hua said, "Ink and water is the most Chinese style." When creating, Ms. Hua let water guide ink to move freely on paper, being natural, which is an "innovative" return to traditional Chinese painting.

巴金先生說過：“文學(xué)的最高技巧是無技巧。” 華之寧先生的畫，基于技巧，卻又超越技巧。她是在用心來表達(dá)。她對人生、藝術(shù)的理解，有著常人難以參透的微妙之處，從她的畫作中可以看出她內(nèi)心深處安寧、豁達(dá)，以及對家鄉(xiāng)山水的一份深情。作為從無錫走出去的文化名人，華之寧先生一直不忘桑梓，心念故鄉(xiāng)，不但在家鄉(xiāng)捐資助學(xué)，還曾先后三次向無錫博物院捐贈了自己的122件代表作。這對于豐富無錫博物院院藏、研究錫邑畫家的藝術(shù)風(fēng)格，起到了積極作用。

Mr. Ba Jin said, "The top skill of literature is no skill." The paintings of Ms. Hua Zhining are based on skills but beyond skills. She expressed her own heart. Her understanding of life and art contains some subtleties that ordinary people do not understand. From her paintings, we can see that she is peaceful and generous, and has a deep affection for the landscape of her hometown. As a cultural celebrity going out of Wuxi, Ms. Hua Zhining has never forgotten her hometown. She has not only donated money to schools in her hometown, but also donated 122 representative works created by herself to the Wuxi Museum in three times. This has played a positive role in enriching the collection of Wuxi Museum and studying the artistic style of tnativepainters.

無錫博物院藏 現(xiàn)代 華之寧《氣勢》

華之寧先生一直有個(gè)心愿：讓藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作的理想在家鄉(xiāng)綿延。為了紀(jì)念華先生，也為了完成她的心愿，無錫博物院與之寧中西文化交流協(xié)會再次共同攜手舉辦此次展覽，遴選出無錫博物院藏華之寧先生精品畫作近60幅，涵蓋了各個(gè)時(shí)期的創(chuàng)作風(fēng)格，讓無錫的觀眾有機(jī)會再一次欣賞到這種中西合璧、包容萬象的美和氣度。同時(shí)展出的還有先生的作畫用品及其他藝術(shù)品，以表達(dá)深切的懷念。希望有更多的無錫畫家能像華之寧先生那樣，不斷開拓視野，不斷探索創(chuàng)新，更好地走向世界，展示中國畫家風(fēng)采。

Ms. Hua Zhining had a wish all her life: let the ideal of artistic creation continue in her hometown. In commemoration of Ms. Hua and in order to fulfill her wish, Wuxi Museum and Zhining Zhining Eastand West Cultural Exchange Association cooperated once again to hold this exhibition, selected nearly 60 fine paintings ofMs. Hua Zhining from the collection of Wuxi Museum, which covered the creation styles of different periods and provided the visitors of Wuxi with the opportunity to appreciate the all-embracing beauty and grace of the combination of Chinese and Western cultures once again. Ms. Hua's painting supplies and other artworks are also on display to express our deep memory of her. We hope that more Wuxi painters will continue to broaden their horizons, explore and bring forth new ideas constantly, present better works to the world, and show the personalities of Chinese painters, just like what Ms. Hua Zhining did.
